On the collection's landing page you'll find links to recently added performances. You'll also find links to help start your search with suggested topics: pre-defined searches by performance type, ensemble name, genres, festival series, and more. Use the search box to search by keyword; or use the advanced search to find recordings based on date (YYYY-MM-DD), ensemble name, individual name, work title, composer, venue, or any of the available facets available under advanced search. You may also browse the entire collection using the "Browse all" link in the site navigation.
The search results page allows you to sort the results by clicking on a column heading. The small triangle icon indicates the current search result sort. Clicking the column heading again will reverse the sort order.
Once you've found a performance, you'll see that a program from the event appears in PDF format, along with detailed metadata about the performance. Use the navigation on the right side of the page to navigate to the recordings. Note that metadata specific to the event appears first (Event Description), followed by metadata specific to the recording and/or the specific work (Item Description). These metadata description areas are collapsible and expandable by clicking on the box headers.
Recordings are only accessible to Juilliard students, faculty, and staff. Users with Juilliard credentials who are not yet logged in will see a link to do so at this point. The link will trigger Juilliard's single sign-on (SSO) login screen, and once authenticated, will return the user to the event page with access to audio and/or video.
To further explore Jmedia and find similar items, metadata terms are linked. Authority-controlled terms for composer, choreographer, work titles, ensemble names, individual names, and subject headings allow you to find all records containing the same term by clicking the linked term.
The collection contains most recordings from 2013 to the present, as well as some older recordings dating back as far as 1956. New performance recordings are added on an ongoing basis as they become available. In addition, retrospective digitization of Juilliard recordings continues as an ongoing project.
